tri-Ace and Tales series related sites
The big one, tri-Ace's own page. English pages are still apparently (after several years) under construction. :/
Vera's site. It's a general RPG site, but contains an SO2 section, with some of her own original fan art and fanfics.
Taichou's Tales of Phantasia site. It was FINALLY updated again in Feb. 2000. Chances are, it'll never be updated again. Contains some really neat goodies that'll probably never make their way onto my page...
Star Ocean 2 Archive
A very in-depth fan site about Star Ocean 2. Kind of reminds me of a really big FAQ made into a website. All content is original, so if you can't find what you're looking for in an FAQ, you might want to try here.
Star Ocean 2 online manual
Ever notice how much the manual of Star Ocean 2 (american) sucks? Need better explanations of things without looking at a normal FAQ? Then this is the place for you! But be aware of the link coloring sceme... ack! Bright green on white? Background should be black, IMO...
This is the website of Shira, composer of many MIDIs on this website. I actually offered him a link a LONG time ago when I would create this Links page, in thanks for allowing me to have the MIDIs on this website. It's a tri-Ace site (with the exception of Tales of Phantasia) with MIDIs and some Japanese fanfics. Be forewarned though! This website is in JAPANESE. Shift-JIS encoded.
Free Star Ocean email
Hmm... want a free Star Ocean email address? Then come here. The email addresses are yourname@starocean.i-p.com I think. It seems web based, though.

General RPG / game sites
Working Designs
At one point in time (well not that long actually), I had some kind of petition going for them to translate the Tales of Phantasia remake. Looks like it didn't work out because those warts at Namco won't hand over the license. It really sucks, since WD _DID_ actually seem like they were interested. Besides that though, they're translating the Arc the Lad trilogy, which IMO looks pretty interesting.
Grandia is great. I really enjoyed it and finished it twice-- which is rare in this day and age as far as RPGs in the US go. This is Feena's Grandia page, it's far more informative than any section I would've been able to make. It's a shame I found its sequel to be disappointing.
Feena Cosplay
You know, Feena's a pretty cute chick in Grandia, you gotta admit. Now here's something for the ultimate Feena fan! Cosplay! It's only a couple pictures, but this girl is soooo cute being dressed up like her... uhh, and it's also a general Grandia cosplay page. Just stay clear of the scary looking Justin and Mullen...
Finally! A Japanese RPG gamer opens up a site about Japanese RPGs to the english speaking public! Show Chaki some support by giving his page a visit! Maybe it'll encourage other Japanese RPG players to open their site to the english speaking crowd too. Oiiii~~!! He now has information for Tales of Eternia!
An underground game news site which blows away the online gaming news competition. You'll find that many big sites actually rip a big hunk of their news from here...
Good only for their exclusive news. They show an obvious bias towards a certain large company and its games and also to other hyped to hell games and rates most of them much higher than they deserve. They more often-than-not knock other games as being mediocre compared to the big names. Ignore their reviews and go for the ones at RPGFan, or in some cases GameFAQs, where you'll get opinions from many different gamers alike.
The news quality here isn't too great, since most of it can be found elsewhere beforehand, but that's not the strength of the site. They have a GREAT file archive for many RPGs (though their tri-Ace related pages are quite dry compared to mine :P). Lightly biased, but not even nearly a fraction to Gaming Intelligence. The reviews here are much better than GIA, and actually give Star Ocean 2, Grandia, and even Valkyrie Profile their deserved justice. Formerly known as Square.Net several years ago.
Want UNBIASED RPG coverage? Here ya go. It has a large staff, and most of them have their own very different RPG preferances. In other words, you won't find nearly as many oh-so common Squaresoft junkies here as OTHER sites. Quite a few of them even like even the most obscure import Japanese RPGs and actually enjoy them more than the 'bigwigs'. There are a lot of reviews, and unlike RPGamer or GIA, they usually have multiple reviews of one game, and they even accept visitor reviews.
One of the oldest, and still one of the best gaming sites out there. A gigantic database full of FAQs for almost any game in existance. Tired of biased special website/magazine reviews? You might want to check the 'amateur' reviews for the games here to get a hint on what the AVERAGE gamer is saying about it.

Anime/Manga
AnimEigo!! These guys worked on and did fantastic job on the excellent Oh My Goddess! OVA series! I can't wait for the DVD. CEO Robert Woodhead even sent me a cryptic reply to an email I sent that gave me the impression that they also had the rights to the recently shown-in-Japan OMG! movie. Which would be excellent, because...

These guys, in a way, are the Working Designs of anime. They're a small company, but strive for nothing less than high quality. Of course, just like WD, they have a problem with delays. The biggest difference between them is that they don't really 'Americanize' their scripts, so purists can be happy. I await the high quality release of the OMG! movie, regardless of delays. =D
Publisher of the utterly divine english Oh My Goddess! manga (can't you tell I'm in love with this series already!?). Too bad the english version is still trailing pretty far behind the Japanese releases. Blame the monthly release tradition, I guess. :|
The definitive source for everything related to Anime released on DVD, mainly covering Region 1 and Region 2(Japan) released Anime. Get reviews, news and more. Quite an active message community too.
Want more news that isn't just restricted to DVD? Well, here's the Magic Box of the anime community. Not only covers anime, but manga as well. Site design is pretty plain, but I guess it works.
Very, very, very good anime fansub distro. Get all your Adventures of Mini-Goddess (OMG! spinoff) subs here, as they're probably the best ones you'll find. ;)
Sachi Gumi
Another very, very, very good anime fansub distro. I got all my Flame of Recca subs here and in very good time. Hope there'll be another Recca series sometime. =)
Anime Coalition
These guys are digi-subbing the Tales of Eternia TV anime series in DiVX. Need I go on?
You're Under Arrest movie petition
Petition for You're Under Arrest Movie/TV series to get a properly done dub.

Granted, I'm not a real dub fan... but there is one thing I believe in-- translation consitency. Years ago, AnimEigo did the You're Under Arrest OVA series, and well it was subbed and dubbed. Its movie (and apparently the TV series...) is in the possession of US anime monopoly A.D. Vision, not AnimEigo. So, chances are, ADV would probably go for a new set of dub actors (kinda like FUNimation ala DBZ). This petition is to bring back the original cast of voice actors that AnimEigo used in the OVA series.

Be sure to add your sig. It's another series by Kosuke Fujishima-sama and it must be done right! (and granted, I'd be absolutely furious if another company stole the Ah! My Goddess movie and TV series and used different dub actors than the AnimEigo OVA. I'd be vengeful. I'd turn into Gabilla on them, and I wouldn't even need any mold.

Emulation / ROM hacking
SwampAss' domain. All your base are belong to it.
Tales of Phantasia for SFC has been translated! Go here and get the patch. And it's all thanks to Dark Force and Chess Piece Face, so RESPECT THEM. Wipe the drool off your face already.
Demi's got a pretty cool page with an interesting design. He seems to go crazy over at creating l33t images with photoshop (or something). He's also translated many NES games, but he doesn't seem to be too interested in the scene anymore and has gotten into programming commercial Gameboy Color/Advance games. Man, you gotta bring back that WWWBoard, with its mod player... those were the days...
This is where my old ROM Hacking/translations projects went in case you were wondering, of course, including Tales of Phantasia PSX. I like the design of this page more than this tri-Ace site (which I would like to redesign someday).
the whirlpool
As of now, this is the undisputed king of fan translation news pages (sorry RPGd, but they've got you beat).

Oh, what about the dino with the big teeth? He's the romh. He eats people. So Ph33r him.

I DID IT SUPPINNAH-CHAN.

Funny
Mr.T vs. everything. See little stories of Mr. T vs. the Teletubbies, The spice girls, the ninja turtles, Pokemon, Austin Powers, Final Fantasy 7 and even the almighty SEANBABY!... Haha, there are a COUNTLESS number of Mr.T vs. (whatever) story things here! I pity da fool who don't go there! Mr.T is helluva tough! Though admittedly, a number of these are lame, so be careful.
dead sexy :P
Seanbaby.com. It's an old, but a very, very substance rich website with a lot of miscellaneous humorous (offensive?) material across many subjects (including video games). This is certainly one of the best sites out there, and certainly worth going to if you're looking for a good crack up.
Spoofs of old Nintendo games using Flash animation. Some great stuff in here.
Eskimo Bob. He is cool.

Other cool sites
Arche
Very, very very high quality original AND anime fan artwork! And especially since this person has done fan art for Tales of Phantasia, it DEFINITELY deserves a link!
Ian Kelley's helped me with some FAQs, and answered some stupid questions by me in email and on USENET. He also writes some very very high quality game FAQs. His page is nice, but doesn't really go in any direction-- it's just general site about himself, links to Japanese language resources, all of his great FAQs and stuff. But it seems he's abandoned the page; his Dragon Quest VII FAQ is not there.
Kuronue's RPG/Anime page, hosted by the evil Geocities. He and the other people of this site generally have a larger taste in anime and heavily anime-themed RPGs (like LUNAR, Ys, etc.). They seem to largely hate the big elistists bastard company known only as Squaresoft and their ridiculous cult following. Some of them even hate Sony. Other than there's quite a bit of content, there's not much else to say.
This is one of the very first websites I had ever visited, wayyyyyy back in early 1996. It was back in the day when I was a hopeless Final Fantasy VI addict, and had to have every Game Genie code I could possibly find. Those days were quite fun, and replaying the game with the 'Genie using some interesting codes gave that game mucho replay value. Well, fortunately, those days are now over, but this site will always live on-- it's still the best database of user created Game Genie codes!
SNES Mod Music Domain
SNESAmp - The quality SPC Archive. Get all your SNES SPC music files here! Contrary to the out of date image for the link, he doesn't make mods anymore.
